Taylor Wimpey is preparing a Reserved Matters planning application for Phase 2 of the residential development on land north of Comberton Road, Kidderminster.
This public consultation is being undertaken to outline the proposals for Phase 2 and to provide local residents and stakeholders with an opportunity to comment before the application is submitted to Wyre Forest District Council.
Site Location

The Phase 2 site is located on the eastern edge of Kidderminster. It is bounded by existing residential development to the west, the Birmingham-Worcester railway line to the north and open countryside to the east and south.
Key constraints affecting the design include:
• The need to protect the residential amenity of existing homes along the western boundary;
• Respecting the local character;
• Retention of existing vegetation, including hedgerows, tree belts and mature trees;
• Noise influences from the railway to the north and Husum Way to the west; and
• Variations in landform affecting layout, drainage and building orientation.
The site also presents a number of opportunities:
• Adjacent to the existing settlement edge, creating strong links with established neighbourhoods;
• Using high-quality local development as a reference to inform the design;
• Delivering a sustainable, residential-led development with a mix of housing types, sizes and tenures, including affordable housing;
• Enhancing pedestrian and cycle connections to surrounding areas and the wider movement network;
• Strengthening green infrastructure through reinforced hedgerows and new planting; and
• Creating a landscape-led interface with existing homes to the west.
